Maryland Terrapins offer best BIG game-day value

The expanded Big Ten is something college football fans look forward to watching. While games are exciting on TV, in person is one of the great ways to experience the sport. All schools have a particular flare or something unique about them.

But when it comes down to it, the Maryland Terrapins give visitors the most well-rounded experience in the conference, according to Bet Maryland. In their overview of how fans could evaluate the best choice to grab a ticket for, they took multiple aspects into consideration. The primary part of their reasoning was the value of ticket prices.

For this, they took from the individual university breakdowns on Stadium Journey. The principle from which they gathered their information would be true of anyone looking to nail a fun time watching high-caliber athletes compete. Affordability and being able to get seats without costing an arm and a leg is arguably the single most important thing to consider.

There may be several reasons as to why, but overall, particularly for games like their home opener against Connecticut, spectators can take in the atmosphere at College Park without having to borrow against the mortgage. For some, the concessions and food stand reign supreme. With all things being equal, it's hard for any program in the country to be able to outdo what the Mid-Atlantic has to offer, assuming that seafood is not on your not-to-eat list.

This is because any old ballpark or arena can have hot dogs and fries. But the offerings from the 'Free State' give fans a liberating culinary experience that in itself would be worth a trip. With their addition of crab fries on the menu, the perfect local blend of the stadium food and what you'd expect from the area is all in one place while rooting for first downs.

And then the same Stadium Journey article goes on to mention 'The Cheesie'. This delicacy is described as a large pretzel that doesn't just use salt and butter. Instead, it is smothered in crab dip and dripped with melted cheese to again provide a borderline entree that particularly out-of-staters are sure to enjoy.

It's mentioned that there are other great eateries offered, but in truth, if all that was available were these two items, that would be enough to set it apart. But kidding aside, it's definitely something that sets a Maryland Terrapins campus visit apart from others in the ever-growing BIG.

Season of hope for the Maryland Terrapins

The Maryland Terrapins are a team that will have large shoes to fill after losing Taulia Tagovailoa. But the overall game-day experience, and on-field product makes this a team to monitor and pay attention to in the Big Ten this year.

This is a school that is more known for its basketball success. However, head coach Mike Locksley and their insider partnership with Under Armour are hoping to build off last year's success. With Taulia Tagovailoa, the team won eight games and ended the season with a Music City Bowl victory over the Auburn Tigers.

Changing signal callers, particularly from someone who had as much success as the conference's all-time leading passer, is a difficult task. But they have some viable names in the works and a proven record of overcoming obstacles. The first part of their schedule is a little more forgiving and could provide the exact needed opportunity to work out some early kinks. No game is a gimme, especially with the newcomers, and open lack-of-division schedules. However, the same needs to be said for any opponent that this team faces. At a minimum, Maryland will be a tough out.

For now with Billy Edwards Jr. and M.J. Morris, among others, competing for the starting job, there will be large offensive shoes to fill from last year's production. This Maryland Terrapins staff will continue to look for ways to get better and navigate the Big Ten waters, providing spectators with a good product as a result of their hard work.
